COMMUNITY RULES

A place to speak your truth.A responsibility to treat people with care.

Different lives. Different perspectives. The same right to be treated as human.

We Remain Human exists so people can tell their stories, feel heard, and learn from one another. You do not need a perfect story or the same opinions as everyone else to belong here. You do need to treat the people here with dignity.

Disagreement is welcome.
Disrespect is not.
01

Speak your truth. Leave room for someone else’s.

Tell your own experience honestly. Someone else may remember, understand, or move through life differently. Listen with curiosity. You can disagree with a perspective without dismissing the person behind it.

02

No bullying. No humiliation. No cruelty.

Insults, ridicule, name-calling, victim-blaming, demeaning comments, and attempts to make someone feel less than have no place here. Neither do slurs, hateful attacks, threats, or encouraging others to target someone. Pain is not entertainment, and vulnerability is not an invitation to attack.

03

Challenge an idea without attacking a person.

Explain what you see differently and why. Ask a genuine question. “My experience was different” opens a conversation. “You’re stupid for feeling that way” shuts it down. A disagreement never justifies harassment or a pile-on.

04

Protect the person behind the story.

Respect anonymity. Do not identify, investigate, or expose someone who has chosen to stay private. Do not share private contact details, screenshots of private conversations, or information that puts another person’s privacy at risk. Tell your story without exposing someone else unnecessarily.

05

Offer support without taking control.

Share what helped you, ask whether advice is wanted, and leave room for someone to choose their own next step. Do not pressure people to forgive, leave, reconcile, reveal more, or follow your advice. Avoid diagnosing strangers or presenting your experience as the only right answer.

06

Let people choose how much to share.

No one owes the community their face, name, details, proof of their pain, or a further update. Respect a boundary the first time. Do not demand graphic details or turn someone’s experience into an interrogation.

07

Keep the space honest and human.

Do not impersonate someone, submit another person’s experience as your own, or use a story to scam, advertise, or recruit. Avoid graphic detail that is not needed to understand the experience. Share with care for the people who may be reading.

08

Help stop harm without adding to it.

Do not join an attack or repost hurtful content to shame someone. On social platforms, use the available reporting tools and bring concerns to the moderation team through that platform’s contact options. You can support the person affected without escalating the conflict.

HOW WE PROTECT THIS SPACE

These boundaries mean something.

There is zero tolerance for bullying, demeaning behavior, harassment, or cruelty. Content that crosses these boundaries may be removed, and people responsible may be restricted or removed from the community. Serious harm can lead to immediate removal without a warning. Repeated violations will not be treated as harmless misunderstandings.

Good-faith disagreement is not a violation. The difference is how you treat the person. Our aim is to protect honest conversation while making room for people to learn, listen, and do better.

REAL PEOPLE. REAL STORIES.

Yours belongs here, too.

Come to listen. Come to learn. Come to lift someone up.
